Understand Your Carriyo Account

Tenant

Your Carriyo account is identified by a unique tenant ID, which serves as the primary identifier for your account within the platform.

  • Enterprise Accounts : If you have an Enterprise account, Carriyo provides two tenant IDs — one for the DEMO environment (used for testing and development) and one for the LIVE environment (used for production). This separation allows you to safely test new integrations and configurations without affecting live operations.

    Why is this important?
    The DEMO and LIVE separation ensures that any changes or tests are isolated from real customer data and live shipments, allowing for safe experimentation and implementation.

  • Free, Starter, and Pro Accounts : With these account types, you have access to the Carriyo LIVE environment only, with a single tenant ID. The DEMO environment is not available. However, you can create multiple accounts if you wish to separate testing from production.

Merchant

Within a tenant, you can manage one or more merchants, each representing a distinct brand or business unit under your account. Each merchant is assigned a unique merchant ID for identification.

  • Enterprise Accounts : If your business operates across multiple brands or regions, you can create separate merchants for each. This allows for segregated data management, tailored configurations, and independent business operations per brand or region.

    Example: If your company operates two distinct brands, you can create a separate merchant for each to keep operations and data management isolated.

  • Free, Starter, and Pro Accounts : These accounts typically support a single merchant per tenant. For businesses requiring more flexibility, upgrading to an Enterprise plan allows for the management of multiple merchants.
