Shipment Booking
Shipment booking is the process of registering a shipment with a carrier, obtaining a tracking number, generating a label, and scheduling a pickup.
Carriyo supports two types of shipment booking flows, as outlined in the diagrams below:
Draft Shipment Flow
This flow is best for merchants who want early visibility of shipments in Carriyo from the time the customer order is received.
For forward shipments:
- The merchant creates a draft shipment in Carriyo when the customer confirms their order.
- Once the items are picked and packed, the merchant confirms the shipment in Carriyo to receive the label.
- Once all fulfillment processes are completed, the merchant marks the shipment as "Ready to Ship".
For reverse shipments:
- The merchant creates a draft shipment in Carriyo when a customer requests a return.
- Once the return request is reviewed and approved, the merchant confirms the shipment in Carriyo.
- Once the pickup time is agreed with the customer, the merchant marks the shipment as "Ready to Ship".
Confirmed Shipment Flow
This flow is used when a merchant only wants to view shipments that have already been processed at their fulfillment location.
For forward shipments:
- The merchant creates the shipment in Carriyo after the items have been picked and packed, and receives the label.
- Once all fulfillment processes are completed, the merchant marks the shipment as "Ready to Ship".
For reverse shipments:
- The merchant creates the shipment in Carriyo when the customer's return request is reviewed and approved.
- Once the pickup time is agreed with the customer, the merchant marks the shipment as "Ready to Ship".
